Handmade in our UK workshop, each bed is carefully sanded and finished to achieve a smooth touch, while preserving its original character and charm. The timber is sustainably sourced and treated with care, ensuring it maintains its natural beauty for years to come.
The Oxclose bed frame is a striking centrepiece, featuring a wide angled timber plank at the foot that highlights the natural wood grain. It is supported by angled legs that echo the beam’s shape, adding both strength and crafted detail. The forward-leaning timber detail gives the bed a bold, grounded look, while the careful proportions keep the design elegant.
Designed for flexibility, it can be paired with a range of our headboards that are either mounted on the wall above the bed or attached directly to the frame. To add your headboard, use our customisation feature to see your dream bed design come to life.

Complete the look with some of our low-level bedside tables, such as the Pandon Bedside or Sandhaven Bedside - we recommend picking the same wax finish as your bedframe. Funky Chunky Furniture’s shelves, mantels, and furniture are crafted from responsibly sourced wood. We work with suppliers who prioritise sustainable forestry, ensuring forests are well-managed to support biodiversity, protect wildlife habitats, and promote long-term regeneration.
Solid Rustic Timber
To make these Oxclose wooden loft beds we select top quality, unsorted, kiln-dried pine. Each handmade bed frame is cut to size and finished in our signature rustic style. This leaves in lots of natural timber characteristics and features. Mother Nature's own stamp of approval.
In this style you can expect to find splits, cracks, knots, shakes, waney edges, bows and twists, along with machine marks in keeping with the rustic style. These are the qualities that set our furniture apart from the rest. And due to the nature of solid wood every bed frame will be different. Truly unique. One of a kind. Please note that further movement may occur within the timber, particularly if the item is placed near to a heat source, which may exaggerate these natural features.
2 Fine Wax Finish Colours
To finish the Oxclose Bed Frame we use your choice of one of our supreme wax polishes. The finish is professionally applied with the highest attention to detail. And as the wax soaks into the different grains and features, it enhances their look and brings them to life. The available colours are:
- Smoke Pine
- Medium Oak
When viewing on screen, colours can look different from one screen to another. This makes it less reliable than seeing the real finished timber before your own eyes. Because you want the perfect colour for your home these finishes are available to purchase as small samples. You can order your samples here.
Quick & Easy Assembly
Assembling the Oxclose bed frame takes no time at all and is a very simple process. Here is a quick summary of how to do it:
- Position the bed in the location you would like it to be in your room.
- Place the 2 side rails on the floor near to where they will be joining the headboard and place the footboard at the bottom end of the rails.
- Attach one end of one rail in to the footboard and then do the same with the other rail
- From behind the headboard screw in bolts in to the side rail.
- Repeat this with the other rail and make sure all is firmly in place.
- Place the slats into the grooves on the side rails.
It's that simple and all you need to do next is add your mattress and bedding.
Care & Clean
Daily care of your Funky Chunky Furniture piece is really simple. Watch our 30 second video to find out more.
Your furniture will come with plastic "feet", please use these on the bottom of your new furniture to protect your flooring. You will need to make sure that any hard flooring (which includes wood, laminate and vinyl flooring) is completely dry and free from chemical residues before putting your new furniture into place.
As this is a natural wood product with a wax finish any applied force, and friction, can cause the wax to transfer onto surfaces.
If wax transfer does occur we may be able to recommend products to help remove or reduce the appearance of the transfer.
However, we cannot be held responsible for any such incidents, or the use of any products we may suggest. Get in touch with our customer services team for advice.
Future Maintenance with Wax Care Packs
We have wax care packs available to keep your furniture and shelves looking their best. They are a great to use every few months to make your piece look brand new all the time.

Turnaround & Delivery
As these solid wood bed frames are handmade we do require some time for manufacturing. This will normally take 2-3 working weeks. They will then be dispatched with a pallet delivery company. The courier will contact you directly to arrange a delivery date so please ensure to leave a contact number with your order.
The delivery will be a roadside pallet delivery so we recommend that two strong people are available to carry the item into the home.
