Christmas Break
Please be aware that due to our Christmas break, lead times may be affected. We appreciate your understanding and patience during this period.
UK Mainland
We offer a free delivery option on all orders of £100+ to addresses within the UK mainland. This free delivery applies to our standard service, which for any larger items of furniture going on a pallet delivery is a Monday - Friday service. Please contact customer services for alternatives.
For other delivery destinations, we charge the extra amount our couriers and delivery partners charge us, to deliver to those addresses.
You can calculate your delivery costs by filling your shopping bag with all the Funky Chunky Furniture items you'd like and heading to checkout. Just put in your delivery address and postcode, and the website will calculate your delivery cost.
If you're on the UK mainland and your Shopping Bag isn't quite at £100, maybe there's something that you could add from our Accessories collection, to take you over that free delivery threshold.

Shelves and Mantels
As all our shelves and mantels are handmade we will require time to make your piece.
The specific lead time for your piece will be listed on its product page under the Turnaround & Delivery heading.
In dispatch the shelves and mantels will be checked over for quality before being packed. If required, plastic corner protectors and cardboard edges are added to the items before they are packaged. We choose to package our shelves and mantels using cardboard for the vast majority, and in some instances, bubble wrap. All our packaging is recyclable. If fixings are required, for example for shelves and mantels, the fixings are placed inside cardboard packaging and wrapped inside the main packaging, either at one end of the main cardboard box, or inside the bubble wrap at the end of the shelf.
Please leave a mobile phone number at checkout and we will forward this to the courier. This will assist with the delivery, particularly where special instructions are left. We will use your email address if no phone number is provided.
Small Furniture
Smaller items of furniture includes items such as our coffee tables, tv stands, console tables and side tables each piece of furniture's lead times are displayed on its page. This is because all our solid wood furniture is handmade to order in our workshop and this takes time. Once we receive your order it will be added to our workshop's list to produce and one of our skilled craftsmen will make your piece, just for you.
Each piece of furniture is fully made up in our workshop to make sure it all fits correctly. Small furniture items will be fully assembled by our workshop team to ensure all pieces fit correctly, before being disassembled again and passed through to the dispatch department.
In dispatch they will be checked over for quality again before being packed. If required, plastic corner protectors and cardboard edges are added to the items before plenty of bubble wrap is applied.

Large Furniture
All our furniture is handmade to order, which takes our skilled craftsman time. The specific lead time for your piece of furniture will be listed on its product page under the Turnaround & Delivery heading.
These larger wooden furniture items will be fully made up in our workshop to ensure it all fits correctly. If the item does not require assembly at home it will then be passed through to the dispatch department. If the item does require assembly at home, our workshop team will then disassemble it again into its component parts and pass it through to the dispatch department.
In dispatch they will be checked over again for quality before being packed appropriately. The item is then loaded onto a pallet ready for collection by our courier.
Your item will then be dispatched and arrive at your address on a pallet on a date arranged between yourself and the pallet delivery company. It is important to open your delivery as soon as it is received so that this can be checked over, and so that the wood can breathe.
Please remember to leave your phone number at the checkout as we will forward this to the delivery company to contact you and arrange the delivery date directly with you. The phone number is a requirement by the delivery company and, if no number is provided, the order cannot be dispatched and there may be a delay in sending your item.
Delivery is via a pallet company. You will receive an email prior to dispatch to confirm an estimate dispatch date. The courier will usually contact you directly within 5 working days from dispatch to arrange a delivery date that is suited to you.
Please note, the free delivery we offer is the standard delivery which is Monday - Friday delivery. If you require a Saturday delivery, please contact customer services to discuss. Please note, a surcharge will be payable for Saturday deliveries.
The courier will deliver “roadside” which means that they are not obligated to assist in moving items into a home or commercial premises. It is recommended that 2 strong people take delivery to make sure that items can be moved easily.
On the date of delivery, you must be at the delivery address as the delivery company will only attempt one delivery. If there is no one present to take receipt of the goods the item will be returned to the depot to await further instruction. Any more delivery attempts will incur an extra delivery charge.
The delivery company will not take the empty pallet away with them. We would recommend that you dispose of these responsibly, either at your local waste recycling facility, or for organising a collection with your local council, if they offer that service.
Please note; it is the buyer's responsibility to inform us of any access issues prior to delivery. Re-delivery charges may occur if delivery is unsuccessful due to access issues. The delivery company will not take the pallet away with them, it is your responsibility to unpack your new furniture and dispose of the pallet. Isles, Highlands of Scotland, Europe
In addition to UK mainland, we deliver to Highlands, Isles of Scotland. For these areas, there will be an additional 2-5 working days for delivery so please consider this when placing your order.
Unfortunately we are not currently able sell to, or deliver to EU countries. It's something we are looking into, and we hope to be able to sell to these countries in the next few months.
Please remember to leave your phone number at the checkout, this will be passed on to the courier so that text updates can be provided where available.
