With fixings on the back to secure it to your wall, you can choose to leave it empty, or fill it with your favourite books. Place it in your hallway as a statement wall feature, in your home office as handy storage, or even in your dressing area to store accessories.

Funky Chunky Furniture’s shelves, mantels, and furniture are crafted from responsibly sourced wood. We work with suppliers who prioritise sustainable forestry, ensuring forests are well-managed to support biodiversity, protect wildlife habitats, and promote long-term regeneration.
Solid Rustic Timber
To make the Ouseburn Book Shelf we select top quality, unsorted, kiln-dried pine. Each book shelf is cut to size and finished in our signature rustic style. This leaves in lots of natural timber characteristics and features. Mother Nature's own stamp of approval.
In this style, you can expect to find splits, cracks, knots, shakes, waney edges, bows and twists, along with sanding marks in keeping with the rustic style. These are the qualities that set our furniture apart from the rest. And due to the nature of solid wood every piece will be different. Truly unique. One of a kind. Please note that placing your item near a heat source can cause movement within the timber which may exaggerate these natural features.
Please note that all sizes and weights given are approximate. As we only use natural, solid timber, measurements can change slightly from one piece to another.
4 Fine Wax Finish Colours
To finish our solid wood Ouseburn Book Shelf we use your choice of one of our supreme wax polishes. The finish is professionally applied with the highest attention to detail. And as the wax soaks into the different grains and features, it enhances their look and brings them to life. The available colours are:
- Walnut
- Teak
- Smoke Pine
- Medium Oak
When viewing on screen, colours can look different from one screen to another. This makes it less reliable than seeing the real finished timber before your own eyes. Because you want the perfect colour for your home these finishes are available to purchase as small samples. You can order your samples here.

The Ouseburn Book Shelf comes fully assembled. Simply unpack and decide where in your home to hang it. This bookshelf has keyhole fixings and will come with instructions. To help you with the installation we also have fitting video guides available. You can view them on our YouTube Channel.

Future Maintenance with Wax Care Packs
We have wax care packs available to keep your furniture and shelves looking their best. They are great to use every few months to make your piece look brand new all the time. They're also brilliant for fixing damage. Order your wax care pack here.
Turnaround & Delivery
As these Ouseburn bookshelves are handmade we do require some time for manufacturing. This will normally take 4-5 weeks. They will then be dispatched and will usually be delivered within 1-2 working days to UK mainland. (More remote UK areas and Northern Ireland could see an extra 1-2 days for delivery). It is important to open your delivery as soon as it is received so that this can be checked over, and so that the wood can breathe.
