The Kenton Black Bed Frame is handcrafted from sustainably sourced pine timbers and bamboo. The frame is hand-finished in a dark-grey/black colour which is achieved by using a dark stain and oiling process, with the headboard and footboard filled with dark-brown bamboo slats.
Available in double, king or super king sizes, and designed to fit a standard UK mattress size.
Like all our furniture and shelves, The Kenton Black Bed Frame is handcrafted and made-to-order in our workshop in the North East of England.
There are Kenton Black Bedside Tables to complement the bed. Just like the bed, they're hand-finished in the same dark-grey/black colour, and have a deep drawer with a bamboo front to mirror the slats on the bed. They're compact in size to provide plenty of storage space on top and inside, without taking up too much floor space.

Our wood comes from forests that are maintained following a globally recognised gold-standard of sustainability. Forests that are so well-managed that they help to fight deforestation and protect wildlife habitats for the species that call them home.
Solid Wood With A Smooth Contemporary Finish
The Kenton Black Bed Frame differs from much of our other bedroom furniture, with a sleeker, more modern finish.
The wood we use for the painted sections of the Kenton Black Bed Frame is sustainably sourced pine timbers. Each piece is hand-sanded to a smooth finish, creating a sleeker, contemporary finish to the solid wood, while still leaving plenty of natural wood features. It is then hand-finished in a dark stain and oil, and sanded again to create the finished frame.
The horizontal slats in the Kenton Black Bed Frame are made from heat treated bamboo, chosen for its durability and colour stability.
It's worth noting, that if you place any wooden furniture near a heat source it can cause movement within the timber.

Quick & Easy Assembly
Your headboard and footboard will come fully assembled, but you will need to put the bed together. Assembling the Kenton black bed frame takes no time at all and is a very simple process. Essentially, you need to join the two side rails to the headboard and footboard, before dropping in the bed slates. But, your bed will come with easy-to-follow instructions to show you how to put it together.
Care & Clean
Daily care of your Funky Chunky Furniture piece is really simple. Watch our 30second video to find out more.
Your furniture will come with felt protectors, please use these on the bottom of your new furniture to protect your flooring. You will need to make sure that any hard flooring (which includes wood, laminate and vinyl flooring) is completely dry and free from chemical residues before putting your new furniture into place.
As this is a natural wood product with a stained and oiled finish, any applied force, and friction, could cause transfer onto surfaces.
If transfer does occur we may be able to recommend products to help remove or reduce the appearance of the transfer.
However, we cannot be held responsible for any such incidents, or the use of any products we may suggest. Get in touch with our customer services team for advice.

As these solid wood beds are handmade we do require some time for manufacturing. Please note that our current lead times are 6-8 weeks. With the Christmas break, these lead times may be affected. We appreciate your understanding and patience. They will then be dispatched with a pallet delivery company. The courier will contact you directly to arrange a delivery date so please ensure to leave a contact number with your order.
The delivery will be a roadside pallet delivery so we recommend that two strong people are available to carry the item into the home. For queries about the pallet delivery service, please contact us at info@funky-chunky-furniture.co.uk
