Its elegant and dramatic design also provides plenty of storage, with a bamboo fronted drawer, and plenty of tabletop space for all the bedside essentials.
It's the perfect sidekick to our showstopper bed, the Kenton Black Bed Frame.
The Kenton Black Bedside Table With Drawer is handcrafted from sustainably sourced pine timbers and bamboo. The frame is hand-finished in a dark-grey/black colour which is achieved by using a dark stain and oiling process, with the drawer front made from dark brown bamboo slats.
Like all our furniture and shelves, The Kenton Black Bed Frame is handcrafted and made-to-order in our workshop in the North East of England.

Funky Chunky Furniture’s shelves, mantels and furniture are made from sustainably sourced wood. Our wood comes from forests that are maintained following a globally recognised gold-standard of sustainability. Forests that are so well-managed that they help to fight deforestation and protect wildlife habitats for the species that call them home.
Solid Wood With A Smooth Contemporary Finish
The Kenton Black Bedside Table differs from much of our other bedroom furniture, with a sleeker, more modern finish.
The wood we use for the painted sections of the Kenton Black Beside Table is tulip wood. We chose to work with this timber because it's strong and is naturally light in colour, making it a good base on which to hand-paint our finishes. Each piece is hand-sanded to a smooth finish, creating a sleeker, contemporary finish to the solid wood, while still leaving plenty of natural wood features. It is then hand finished with dark stains and oils, and sanded again to create the finished frame.
The horizontal slats on the drawer front are made from heat treated bamboo, chosen for its durability and colour stability.
It's worth noting, that if you place any wooden furniture near a heat source it can cause movement within the timber.

Care & Clean
Daily care of your Funky Chunky Furniture piece is really simple. Watch our 30second video to find out more.
Your furniture will come with felt protectors, please use these on the bottom of your new furniture to protect your flooring. You will need to make sure that any hard flooring (which includes wood, laminate and vinyl flooring) is completely dry and free from chemical residues before putting your new furniture into place.
As this is a natural wood product with a hand stained and oiled finish, any applied force, and friction, could cause transfer onto surfaces.
If transfer does occur we may be able to recommend products to help remove or reduce the appearance of the transfer.
However, we cannot be held responsible for any such incidents, or the use of any products we may suggest. Get in touch with our customer services team for advice.
Turnaround & Delivery

As these solid wood bedside tables are handmade we do require some time for manufacturing. Please note that our current lead times are 6-8 weeks. With the Christmas break, these lead times may be affected. We appreciate your understanding and patience.
They will then be dispatched and will usually be delivered within 1-2 working days to UK mainland. (More remote UK areas and Northern Ireland could see an extra 1-2 days for delivery). It is important to open your delivery as soon as it is received so that this can be checked over, and so that the wood can breathe.
Orders with multiple items will be dispatched according to the longest lead time. To receive your quicker lead time items without having to wait, just place separate orders.
