Our Heddon coffee table has a low, chunky, rustic design.
It's made from some of our chunkiest pieces of wood, and named after a Northumberland village close to Hadrian's wall, Heddon-on-the-Wall. The Heddon is our most rustic coffee table.
The tabletop is made by joining pieces of wood in a spiral design, and even has access to a storage area within the coffee table, perfect for sitting room essentials like remote controls, magazines, coasters, even smaller toys. It's a great way to tidy up quickly before guests come round, or to keep your living space clutter free everyday.

Sustainably Sourced Wood
Funky Chunky Furniture’s shelves, mantels and furniture are made from sustainably sourced wood. Our wood comes from forests that are maintained following a globally recognised gold-standard of sustainability. Forests that are so well-managed that they help to fight deforestation and protect wildlife habitats for the species that call them home.
Solid Rustic Timber
To make our shelves and furniture we select top quality, unsorted, European Redwood pine. It is all kiln-dried. This ensures the best possible finish and less chance of further movement. Solid wood contains loads of beautiful rustic character. And we just love it.
Each piece is cut to size and finished in our signature rustic style. This leaves in lots of natural timber characteristics and features. Mother Nature's own stamp of approval. In each piece of timber, you can find features such as knots, cracks, splits, twists, waney edges, bows and shakes, along with sanding marks in keeping with the rustic style. All being different and unique from one piece to another.
These are the qualities that set our furniture and shelves apart from the rest. And due to the nature of solid wood every piece will be different. Truly unique. One of a kind. Please note that further movement may occur within the timber, particularly if the item is placed near to a heat source, which may exaggerate these natural features.
5 Fine Wax Finish Colours
To finish, we use your choice of one of our supreme wax polishes.
Wax not only makes the timber look good, but it is also very durable. You can easily wipe away spillages. And cleaning is very simple. Just wipe with a clean cloth and warm water then leave to dry. But never use harsh chemical cleaners.
The finish is professionally applied with the highest attention to detail. And as the wax soaks into the different grains and features, it enhances their look and brings them to life. The available colours are

When viewing on screen, colours can look different from one screen to another. This makes it less reliable than seeing the real finished timber before your own eyes. Because you want the perfect colour for your home these finishes are available to purchase as small samples.

Quick & Easy Assembly
Assembling the coffee table takes no time at all and is a very simple process. Full instructions will be included, but here is a quick summary of how to do it:
- Your Heddon Coffee Table will arrive in three parts - the base, the top and the storage door
- Place the top onto the base and the frame will hold them in place
- Place the storage door in the centre of the coffee table
With the easy part over all you need to do next is decide where to put your new table.
Future Maintenance With Wax Care Packs
We have wax care packs available to keep your furniture and shelves looking their best. They are great to use every few months to make your piece look brand new all the time.

Care & Clean
Daily care of your Funky Chunky Furniture piece is really simple. Watch our 30second video to find out more.
Your furniture will come with felt protectors, please use these on the bottom of your new furniture to protect your flooring. You will need to make sure that any hard flooring (which includes wood, laminate and vinyl flooring) is completely dry and free from chemical residues before putting your new furniture into place.
As this is a natural wood product with a wax finish any applied force, and friction, can cause the wax to transfer onto surfaces.
If wax transfer does occur we may be able to recommend products to help remove or reduce the appearance of the transfer.
However, we cannot be held responsible for any such incidents, or the use of any products we may suggest. Get in touch with our customer services team for advice.

As these solid wood coffee tables are handmade to order we do require some time for manufacturing, Please note that our current lead times are 6-8 weeks. With the Christmas break, these lead times may be affected. We appreciate your understanding and patience. They will then be dispatched and will usually be delivered within 1-2 working days to UK mainland. (More remote UK areas and Northern Ireland could see an extra 1-2 days for delivery). It is important to open your delivery as soon as it is received so that this can be checked over, and so that the wood can breathe.
Please note: orders with multiple items will be dispatched according to the longest lead time. To receive your quicker lead time items without having to wait, just place separate orders.
