Sustainably Sourced Wood
Funky Chunky Furniture’s shelves, mantels and furniture are made from sustainably sourced wood. Our wood comes from forests that are maintained following a globally recognised gold-standard of sustainability. Forests that are so well-managed that they help to fight deforestation and protect wildlife habitats for the species that call them home.
Solid Rustic Timber
To make our shelves and furniture we select top quality, unsorted, European Redwood pine. It is all kiln-dried. This ensures the best possible finish and less chance of further movement. Solid wood contains loads of beautiful rustic character. And we just love it.
Each piece is cut to size and finished in our signature rustic style. This leaves in lots of natural timber characteristics and features. Mother Natures own stamp of approval. In each piece of timber, you can find features such as knots, cracks, splits, twists, waney edges, bows and shakes, along with sanding marks in keeping with the rustic style. All being different and unique from one piece to another.
These are the qualities that set our furniture and shelves apart from the rest. And due to the nature of solid wood every piece will be different. Truly unique. One of a kind. Please note that further movement may occur within the timber, particularly if the item is placed near to a heat source, which may exaggerate these natural features.
But that's not it. The main feature is the stunning wood grain running through the timber. Pale creamy yellow sapwood contrasts beautifully with the darker reddish-brown heartwood. And the growth rings are plain to see on the ends.
5 Fine Wax Finish Colours
To finish, we use your choice of one of our supreme wax polishes.
Wax not only makes the timber look good, but it is also very durable. You can easily wipe away spillages. And cleaning is very simple. Just wipe with a clean cloth and warm water then leave to dry. But never use harsh chemical cleaners.
The finish is professionally applied with the highest attention to detail. And as the wax soaks into the different grains and features, it enhances their look and brings them to life. The available colours are

When viewing on screen, colours can look different from one screen to another. This makes it less reliable than seeing the real finished timber before your own eyes. Because you want the perfect colour for your home these finishes are available to purchase as small samples.

Quick & Easy Assembly
Assembling the coffee table takes no time at all and is a very simple process. Full instructions will be included, but here is a quick summary of how to do it:
- Place the table top, top side down, onto a flat surface.
- Fix the leg brackets to the legs - The leg brackets are partially fixed to the coffee table legs, with one screw when you receive the package. You will need to rotate the brackets so that the fixing holes line up with the pre-drilled holes at the top of the legs.
- Using the screws with the slightly smaller screw head, fix the brackets tight to the legs.
- Slide the leg brackets over the loose bolts on the table top.
- Tighten the bolts with the Allen key provided.
- Place your table the correct way up.
With the easy part over all you need to do next is decide where to put your new table.

Daily care of your Funky Chunky Furniture piece is really simple. Watch our 30second video to find out more.
Your furniture will come with felt protectors, please use these on the bottom of your new furniture to protect your flooring. You will need to make sure that any hard flooring (which includes wood, laminate and vinyl flooring) is completely dry and free from chemical residues before putting your new furniture into place.
As this is a natural wood product with a wax finish any applied force, and friction, can cause the wax to transfer onto surfaces.
If wax transfer does occur we may be able to recommend products to help remove or reduce the appearance of the transfer.
However, we cannot be held responsible for any such incidents, or the use of any products we may suggest. Get in touch with our customer services team for advice.

As these solid wood coffee tables are handmade to order we do require some time for manufacturing, This will normally take 1 week. They will then be dispatched and will usually be delivered within 1-2 working days to UK mainland. (More remote UK areas and Northern Ireland could see an extra 1-2 days for delivery). It is important to open your delivery as soon as it is received so that this can be checked over, and so that the wood can breathe.
Please note: orders with multiple items will be dispatched according to the longest lead time. To receive your quicker lead time items without having to wait, just place separate orders.
