Funky Chunky Furniture’s shelves, mantels, and furniture are crafted from responsibly sourced wood. We work with suppliers who prioritise sustainable forestry, ensuring forests are well-managed to support biodiversity, protect wildlife habitats, and promote long-term regeneration.

Solid Rustic Timber

To make these rustic dining tables and benches we select top quality, unsorted, kiln-dried pine. Each table and benches are cut to size and finished in our signature rustic style. This leaves in lots of natural timber characteristics and features. Mother Natures own stamp of approval.

In this style you can expect to find splits, cracks, knots, shakes, waney edges, bows and twists, along with machine marks in keeping with the rustic style. These are the qualities that set our furniture apart from the rest. And due to the nature of solid wood every dining table and benches will be different. Truly unique. One of a kind. Please note that further movement may occur within the timber, particularly if the item is placed near to a heat source.

3 Fine Wax Finish Colours

To finish these chunky dining table and benches we use your choice of one of our supreme wax polishes. The finish is professionally applied with the highest attention to detail. And as the wax soaks into the different grains and features, it enhances their look and brings them to life. The available colours are:

When viewing on screen, colours can look different from one screen to another. This makes it less reliable than seeing the real finished timber before your own eyes. Quick & Easy Assembly

To make moving the dining table easier, the table top and leg framework come as 2 separate pieces. Assembling the table is very simple and only takes a short amount of time with all the fixings included. Here is how to do it:

1. Position the legs framework in place where you would like the table to be in the room.
2. Place the table top on top of the frame, using the timber battens underneath as a guide.
3. Using the fixings provided fasten the screws into place, securing the top to the frame.

The benches will arrive fully assembled. Now all you need to do is plan your next dinner party to show off your new rustic dining table. Check out our video guide for further help.

Care & Clean

Daily care of your Funky Chunky Furniture piece is really simple. Watch our 30second video to find out more.

Your furniture will come with felt protectors for the benches and adjustable feet for the table, please use these on the bottom of your new furniture to protect your flooring. You will need to make sure that any hard flooring (which includes wood, laminate and vinyl flooring) is completely dry and free from chemical residues before putting your new furniture into place.

As this is a natural wood product with a wax finish any applied force, and friction, can cause the wax to transfer onto surfaces.

If wax transfer does occur we may be able to recommend products to help remove or reduce the appearance of the transfer.

However, we cannot be held responsible for any such incidents, or the use of any products we may suggest. Get in touch with our customer services team for advice.

Future Maintenance with Wax Care Packs

We have wax care packs available to keep your furniture and shelves looking their best. They are a great to use every few months to make your piece look brand new all the time.

Turnaround & Delivery

As these solid wood dining table and benches are handmade we do require some time for manufacturing. This will normally take 4-6 working weeks. Please note that the lead time provided is an approximate guide, and your furniture may be completed slightly earlier or later than this date. If this would cause any issues, please let us know.

Orders with multiple items will be dispatched according to the longest lead time. To receive your quicker lead time items without having to wait, just place separate orders.

Once the order is complete, you will receive a dispatch email. Delivery will be made by our partner Logistics North East and will arrive on the 2^nd working day following dispatch. On the morning of delivery, you’ll also get an email/ SMS with a 2-hour time slot. (Please allow an additional 2-5 working days for deliveries to Highlands and Islands).
