The Urpeth is a modern bedside table, handmade from solid wood. Bringing warmth and style to any bedroom. The natural grain and knots in the timber give each piece a unique look.
With its clean, rectangular shape and a single drawer for storage, it’s both practical and elegant. The top and side panels are gently rounded at the edges, creating a soft, inviting look while maintaining clean lines. while the open base adds lightness to the structure, giving a floating feel.
Like all our furniture and shelves, The Urpeth Bedside Table is handcrafted, and made-to-order in our workshop in the North East of England.

Funky Chunky Furniture’s shelves, mantels, and furniture are crafted from responsibly sourced wood. We work with suppliers who prioritise sustainable forestry, ensuring forests are well-managed to support biodiversity, protect wildlife habitats, and promote long-term regeneration.
Solid Rustic Timber
To make these rustic bedside tables we select top quality, unsorted, kiln-dried pine. Each bedside tables is cut to size and finished in our signature rustic style. This leaves in lots of natural timber characteristics and features. Mother Natures own stamp of approval.
In this style you can expect to find splits, cracks, knots, shakes, waney edges, bows and twists, along with machine marks in keeping with the rustic style. These are the qualities that set our furniture apart from the rest. And due to the nature of solid wood every bedside table will be different. Truly unique. One of a kind. Please note that further movement may occur within the timber, particularly if the item is placed near to a heat source, which may exaggerate these natural features.
2 Fine Wax Finish Colours
To finish these chunky bedside tables we use your choice of one of our wax polishes. The finish is professionally applied with the highest attention to detail. And as the wax soaks into the different grains and features, it enhances their look and brings them to life. The available colours are:

- Medium Oak
When viewing on screen, colours can look different from one screen to another. This makes it less reliable than seeing the real finished timber before your own eyes. Because you want the perfect colour for your home these finishes are available to purchase as small samples. You can order your samples here.

No Assembly Needed
These rustic bedside tables are fully assembled in our workshop, and sent straight to your door so all you need to do is unpack the bedside table and its ready to use!
Care & Clean
Daily care of your Funky Chunky Furniture piece is really simple. Watch our 30second video to find out more.
Your furniture will come with felt protectors, please use these on the bottom of your new furniture to protect your flooring. You will need to make sure that any hard flooring (which includes wood, laminate and vinyl flooring) is completely dry and free from chemical residues before putting your new furniture into place.
As this is a natural wood product with a wax finish any applied force, and friction, can cause the wax to transfer onto surfaces.
If wax transfer does occur we may be able to recommend products to help remove or reduce the appearance of the transfer.
However, we cannot be held responsible for any such incidents, or the use of any products we may suggest. Get in touch with our customer services team for advice.
Future Maintenance with Wax Care Packs
We have wax care packs available to keep your furniture and shelves looking their best. They are a great to use every few months to make your piece look brand new all the time.
They're also brilliant for fixing damage. Order your wax care pack here.
Turnaround & Delivery
As these solid wood bedside tables are handmade we do require some time for manufacturing. This will take up to 7 working days. They will then be dispatched on a next working day courier service to UK mainland. (More remote UK areas and Northern Ireland could see an extra 1-2 days for delivery).
If you are ordering the bedside table with a large item such as a bed frame, the delivery will arrive together on a pallet to the roadside. Orders with multiple items will be dispatched according to the longest lead time. To receive your quicker lead time items without having to wait, just place separate orders.
