To make these solid oak TV stands we select the finest oak timbers. Each piece of furniture is cut to size, hand-sanded to a smooth finish, hand-oiled, and finished. This leaves the oak timbers sleek and refined, showcasing the natural oak grain. Simply stunning.
Despite the process to make the timber smooth and flat, being a natural product, solid wood can contain a variety of different features and characteristics. Due to the nature of solid oak every piece of our handmade oak furniture will be different. Truly unique. One of A Kind (OAK!). Please note that placing your item above or near to a heat source can cause movement within the timber which may cause the timber to twist or bow.
Clear Protective Oil
All our solid oak furniture is finished with a clear protective oil that is hand applied as part of our handcrafting process. As the oil soaks into the oak it leaves it with a matte finish and enhances the natural look of the grain and features, bringing it to life. It also provides a protective finish to the natural timber. As with all natural wood furniture we would strongly recommend that you protect our oak furniture from heat and moisture, with the use of coasters, heat-protective mats and other precautionary measures.
When viewing on screen, colours can look different from one screen to another. This makes it less reliable than seeing the real finished timber before your own eyes. Because you want the perfect colour for your home, if you choose, you can order samples of the Salters Oak furniture collection timber with our protective oil applied.

Assembly
Your solid oak TV stand will be delivered to you with detailed assembly instructions and all the fixings you need. But, don't worry. The assembly is very straightforward. You just place the TV stand's top bottom side up. Position the legs and then the side rails, securing each as you go, with the fixings provided. Flip the TV stand over and secure the shelf into place. Then you're ready to position it where you like in your home.
Care & Clean
Daily care of your Funky Chunky Furniture oak tv stand is really simple. Watch our 30second video to find out more.
Your furniture will come with felt protectors, please use these on the bottom of your new furniture to protect your flooring. You will need to make sure that any hard flooring (which includes wood, laminate and vinyl flooring) is completely dry and free from chemical residues before putting your new furniture into place.
As this is a natural wood product with a wax finish any applied force, and friction, can cause the wax to transfer onto surfaces.
If wax transfer does occur we may be able to recommend products to help remove or reduce the appearance of the transfer.
However, we cannot be held responsible for any such incidents, or the use of any products we may suggest. Get in touch with our customer services team for advice.

As these solid oak tv stands are handmade we do require some time for manufacturing. This will normally take 6 weeks, they will then be dispatched and will usually be delivered within 1-2 working days to UK mainland. (More remote UK areas and Northern Ireland could see an extra 1-2 days for delivery). It is important to open your delivery as soon as it is received so that this can be checked over, and so that the wood can breathe.
Orders with multiple items will be dispatched according to the longest lead time. To receive your quicker lead time items without having to wait, just place separate orders.
