The Ouseburn Collection is inspired by an area of Newcastle-upon-Tyne where creative industries and vibrant neighbourhoods flourish in a former industrial area of the city.
In this creative and quirky collection of hairpin furniture you can choose from a choice of wax finish colours as well as the colour of the hairpins themselves. Choose from the classic industrial look of raw steel, or go for a more on trend metal finish such as brass.
Complete the look with other pieces of hairpin furniture from the Ouseburn Collection including the hairpin tv stand with storage, hairpin coffee table with storage, bookshelf and for home-working the hairpin desk with storage. The Ouseburn hairpin side table will be delivered to your home requiring assembly - simply screw the legs onto the piece.

Funky Chunky Furniture’s shelves, mantels, and furniture are crafted from responsibly sourced wood. We work with suppliers who prioritise sustainable forestry, ensuring forests are well-managed to support biodiversity, protect wildlife habitats, and promote long-term regeneration.
Solid Rustic Timber
To make these hairpin side tables we select top quality, unsorted, kiln-dried pine. Each table is cut to size and finished in our signature rustic style. This leaves in lots of natural timber characteristics and features. Mother Nature's own stamp of approval.
In this style you can expect to find splits, cracks, knots, shakes, waney edges, bows and twists, along with sanding marks in keeping with the rustic style. These are the qualities that set our furniture apart from the rest. And due to the nature of solid wood every piece will be different. Truly unique. One of a kind. Please note that placing your item near to a heat source can cause movement within the timber which may exaggerate these natural features.
Please note that all sizes and weights given are approximate. As we only use natural, solid timber, measurements can change slightly from one piece to another.
3 Fine Wax Finish Colours
To finish our wooden hairpin side tables we use your choice of one of our supreme wax polishes. The finish is professionally applied with the highest attention to detail. And as the wax soaks into the different grains and features, it enhances their look and brings them to life. The available colours are:

- Smoke Pine
- Medium Oak
When viewing on screen, colours can look different from one screen to another. This makes it less reliable than seeing the real finished timber before your own eyes. Because you want the perfect colour for your home these finishes are available to purchase as small samples. You can order your samples here.

Quick & Easy Assembly
These wooden side tables come supplied with hairpin legs. They aren't attached to the table on delivery and will require some assembly. But do not worry! The hairpin side table will be delivered to you with the legs, fixings and instructions to help you put it together.
The assembly is very quick and easy. Place the table top bottom side up. Position the legs in place. Secure the legs to the table with the fixings provided. Flip the table upright onto its legs and position where you like.

Future Maintenance with Wax Care Packs
We have wax care packs available to keep your furniture and shelves looking their best. They are a great to use every few months to make your piece look brand new all the time. They're also brilliant for fixing damage. Order your wax care pack here.
Turnaround & Delivery
As these solid wood side tables are handmade we do require some time for manufacturing. This will normally take 6-8 working weeks. Please note that the lead time provided is an approximate guide, and your furniture may be completed slightly earlier or later than this date. If this would cause any issues, please let us know.
Orders with multiple items will be dispatched according to the longest lead time. To receive your quicker lead time items without having to wait, just place separate orders.
Once the order is complete, you will receive a dispatch email. Delivery will be made by our partner Logistics North East and will arrive on the 2nd working day following dispatch. On the morning of delivery, you’ll also get an email/ SMS with a 2-hour time slot. (Please allow an additional 2-5 working days for deliveries to Highlands and Islands).
