Recreate a truly industrial style in your home with our Wingate brackets and oak shelf. The shelf brackets have been made from old-style pipework, and when combined with our handcrafted solid oak shelves create a really eyecatching display.

You can choose from 14 different lengths, 3 wax finish colours or the unwaxed, natural oak option for the shelves. handcrafted solid oak shelves and you have a beautiful made-to-order bracket shelving set that is as unique as you and your home.

The shelf is supplied with two of these handmade industrial-style brackets (three for shelves of 120cm and longer). All fixings are provided.

Metal Brackets

The Wingate brackets are made from old-style pipework, handmade on Tyneside, and create a really industrial-style shelving display.

Sustainably Sourced Wood

Funky Chunky Furniture’s shelves, mantels and furniture are made from sustainably sourced wood. Our wood comes from forests that are maintained following a globally recognised gold-standard of sustainability. Forests that are so well-managed that they help to fight deforestation and protect wildlife habitats for the species that call them home.

Solid Oak

These Wingate Industrial Oak Shelves are made from quality solid oak timber. The timber is air-dried and will therefore continue to dry out as it settles into its new environment. You can expect some movement to occur during this time.

Each shelf is cut to size and finished in our workshop. This leaves in lots of natural, rustic timber characteristics and features. Mother Nature's own stamp of approval.

The oak timbers can have colour variations within the piece. These variations are more prominent on lighter wax finish choices, or the natural oak (unwaxed) option. 

In this timber, you can expect to find splits, cracks, knots, shakes, waney edges, bows and twists along with sticker shadows and machine marks in keeping with the rustic style. These are the qualities that set our shelving apart from the rest. And due to the nature of solid wood, every shelf will be different. Truly unique. One of a kind. Rustic timber.

You can expect to see some movement within the oak as it settles into its new environment. Please note that placing your item above or near a heat source can cause this movement to exaggerate the timber's natural features further, particularly splits, cracks and twists.

Fine Wax Finishes

To finish these oak shelves, we use your choice of one of our wax polishes.

Wax not only makes the timber look good, but it is also very durable. You can easily wipe away spillages. And cleaning is very simple. Just wipe with a clean cloth and warm water then leave to dry. But never use harsh chemical cleaners.

The finish is professionally applied with the highest attention to detail. And as the wax soaks into the different grains and features it enhances their look and brings them to life. The colours are:

We also have our unwaxed option, ideal if you have your own finish to apply:

• Natural Oak

When viewing on-screen colours can look different from one screen to another. This makes it less reliable than seeing the real finished timber before your own eyes. Because you want the perfect colour for your home these finishes are available to purchase as small samples.

Future Maintenance of our Bracket Shelves with Wax Care Packs

We have wax care packs available to keep your shelves looking their best.

They're also brilliant for fixing damage. A small amount of wax will fix a scratch. Order your wax care pack here.

Strong Fixings & Easy Installation

When you receive your bracketed shelves, the packaging will also include fixings for solid walls. These shelves can also be installed into timber walls, but you would need to use different fixings. We provide you with fixings that have been designed specifically for the installation of our wooden shelves. We are not able to guarantee the shelves if you do not use the fixings we supply.

Turnaround & Delivery

Pre-Christmas Dispatch

Please order this item by the 13th of December for guaranteed Pre-Christmas dispatch.

The shelf will be made in our workshop within 3 to 5 working days. It will then be dispatched and will usually be delivered within 1-2 working days providing that there are no courier delays. It is important to open your delivery as soon as it is received so that this can be checked over, and so that the wood can breathe.

Orders with multiple items will be dispatched according to the longest lead time. To receive your quicker lead time items without having to wait, just place separate orders.
