Funky Chunky Furniture’s shelves, mantels, and furniture are crafted from responsibly sourced wood. We work with suppliers who prioritise sustainable forestry, ensuring forests are well-managed to support biodiversity, protect wildlife habitats, and promote long-term regeneration.

Solid Smooth Timber

To make the Harton Blanket Box we select top quality, unsorted, kiln-dried pine. Each blanket box is cut to size and hand-sanded to a smoother, more contemporary style.

While this leaves the wood with a sleeker finish we still leave in plenty of the natural timber characteristics and features. These are the qualities that set our furniture apart from the rest. And due to the nature of solid wood every blanket box will be different. Truly unique. One of a kind.

Please note that further movement may occur within the timber, particularly if the item is placed near to a heat source, which may exaggerate these natural features.

3 Wax Finish Colours

To finish this contemporary style wooden blanket box we use your choice of one of our supreme wax polishes. The finish is hand applied, and as the wax soaks into the different grains and features, it enhances their look and brings them to life. The available colours are:

• Walnut
• Smoke Pine
• Medium Oak

When viewing on screen, colours can look different from one screen to another. This makes it less reliable than seeing the real finished timber before your own eyes. Because you want the perfect colour for your home these finishes are available to purchase as small samples. You can order your samples here.

No Assembly Needed

These Harton blanket boxes are fully assembled in our workshop, and sent straight to your door so all you need to do is unpack the blanket box and it's ready to use.

Care & Clean

Daily care of your Funky Chunky Furniture piece is really simple. Watch our 30second video to find out more.

Your furniture will come with felt protectors, please use these on the bottom of your new furniture to protect your flooring. You will need to make sure that any hard flooring (which includes wood, laminate and vinyl flooring) is completely dry and free from chemical residues before putting your new furniture into place.

As this is a natural wood product with a wax finish any applied force, and friction, can cause the wax to transfer onto surfaces.

If wax transfer does occur we may be able to recommend products to help remove or reduce the appearance of the transfer.

However, we cannot be held responsible for any such incidents, or the use of any products we may suggest. Get in touch with our customer services team for advice.

We would recommend protecting your blanket box and using heatproof coasters and protective mats where appropriate.

Future Maintenance with Wax Care Packs

We have wax care packs available to keep your furniture and shelves looking their best. They are a great to use every few months to make your piece look brand new all the time.

Turnaround & Delivery

As this solid wood Harton blanket box is handmade we do require some time for manufacturing. Please note that the lead time provided is an approximate guide, and your furniture may be completed slightly earlier or later than this date. If this would cause any issues, please let us know.

Orders with multiple items will be dispatched according to the longest lead time. To receive your quicker lead time items without having to wait, just place separate orders.

Once the order is complete, you will receive a dispatch email. Delivery will be made by our partner Logistics North East and will arrive on the 2nd working day following dispatch. On the morning of delivery, you’ll also get an email/ SMS with a 2-hour time slot. (Please allow an additional 2-5 working days for deliveries to Highlands and Islands).

The delivery will be a roadside pallet delivery, so we recommend that two strong people are available to carry the item into the home. For queries about the pallet delivery service, please contact us at info@funky-chunky-furniture.co.uk.

It is important to open your delivery as soon as it is received so that this can be checked over, and so that the wood can breathe.
